I saw an advertisement in one of the yachting magazines where this yacht was put on sale. Does anyone have more info on her already? Deck plans, interior renderings, everything is welcome !

Nice benchmark for the price of a brand new 200ft Feadship: 60 M EUR. Interesting to note how well the rule 1 M EUR per meter yacht works (at least for Feadships). Maybe this rule has become an industry standard?

The picture is just 207x270 pixels so I suppose the resolution is simply too low to allow a good look at the details. General arrangement plans must have a very good resolution to be useful. Unfortunately the deck plans of Lioness available at boatcouncil.com are just not good enough. I suppose better ones are available from the broker but of course only if you're a potential buyer...By the way, I saw that quite a lot of items are excluded from the contract price of 60 M EUR (a list "owner supply items" at the bottom of the webpage). So beware if you just have enough to buy the yacht itself!

I'm not surprised. Lioness looks like a fine yacht in the Feadship tradition. It must be a treat for the client to be able to take delivery already in March, 2006 of a brand new Feadship! I suppose there is still time to at least influence some interior details. Major modifications are of course also possible but at the price of later delivery and extra costs.According to the boatcouncil.com advertisement earlier referred to, there are a lot of owner supply items so someone has to go shopping. But on the other hand these items will provide the yacht with a personal touch.

Does anyone know when she is launched exactly or how far she is in the building process ? Launch date must be closing in with a scheduled March 2006 delivery....I also kind of lost view of which yachts Feadship currently is building/developing, can someone give me some clues?

On Saturday 1 April APRIL FOOL (project LIONESS) was christened at the Royal Van Lent yard at De Kaag. No pictures yet as she didn't left the shed.

About the yard numbers: what happened between 675 and 795, did I miss something? Is that list for both De Vries and Van Lent, or only Van Lent (I know ex-Lioness and F45 are Van Lent builds)? That 67 metre, is it the high speed project?

The 6 numbers are De Vries yachts and the 7 numbers are Van Lent yachts. Which high speed project do you mean?

Thanks for the clarification! As for the high-speed project, I read somewhere that Feadship had a 67 metre project under way which, if my memory serves me right, was to be turbine powered. There was nothing more about it as the text just gave an overview of the projects at Feadship.

No, it was 67 metres, that is why I asked if that one was the high speed project.

Alas no 'high speed' projects as such at Feadship at the moment but the 674 @ 73 meters is a radical deviation from the 'classic' Feadship. This one WILL get the tounges wagging!!!......From a reliable source, again.

April Fool is a true Feadship - you will make no mistake about the brand even at a distance! As I wrote earlier (topic: Feadship design issues): "If there is a Feadship "golden ratio" in design you will find it in the "Feadship timeless look" of yachts like Blue Moon III, High Chaparral and Paraffin. I could add Rasselas, Cakewalk, Rahal and the new April Fool."

So then April Fool 2 is sold to someone else and the new April Fool belongs to the old owner?

There is no doubt about April Fool being a Feadship, but she definitely looks very modern, no traditionalism here! Her sundeck and radar mast looks most impressive. Should I direct any criticism against her, it would be that the tender bay might have looked better a little more aft. About that tender, by the way, it looks like something quite traditional. Something dutch? As her tanks are filled, she will lie a little lower, which should make her look even better. for her designer and builder!

I suppose the first one is at the launching, otherwise a suitable text for the pic would be:"Don't mix alcohol with boating" or "One upmanship among Dutch boat owners reaches the limit" or "Oh, no! My new boat won't fit the boat house!" Any other suggestions?

You are right Johan, both photos are from the launch day . The photos are made from the roof of the Royal Van Lent yard and you can see the houses on this photo: http://www.yacht-images.com/mo...o.php

I have seen photos of the yard, but never from the Your angle. I suppose those houses are owned by the Van Lent family, the yard looks quite close by...

I am not sure who owns the houses, but don't forget that there runs a public road right in front of the yard. On this photo you can see ECSTASEA "crossing" the road during her launch. http://www.yacht-images.com/mo...o.php And here is a photo of RAHAL: http://www.yacht-images.com/mo...o.phpThe differences between the two sheds is that Van Lent can remove a "part of the road" in front of the first shed so it's possible to fill this shed with water and sail the yacht out of it. But that's not possible with the shed from where RAHAL was launched.

as long as van lent arent loud and will let me sleep in until midday before they make proper noise, i'd love to have a house on the canals/manmade waterways. so peaceful between 1pm and 6am!
