the new 240' from Royal Denship : Princess Mariana

Last fall, a brand new Espen Oeino designed superyacht was launched at Royal Denship in Denmark. It was the new PRINCESS MARIANA for a Mexican owner. She was going to replace his 49m Benetti.

You can see photos of the yacht on the official website of the yard :

info : http://www.royaldenship.com/Default.asp?ID=36
photos : http://www.royaldenship.com/Default.asp?ID=123

Princess Mariana should have been delivered October or November 2003.

Has anyone seen her since then or has anyone information about her. I would really like to know more...

Larry Dunn in the U.S. office provided the following update: The yacht is en route to the Panama Canal now, having been delayed due to some crew training issues and changes in onboard personnel.

Princess Mariana belongs to mexican communications IUSACELL owner Carlos Peralta Quitnero. His wife is Mariana Tort.
This yatch dock in Acapulco some wekks before begin to Mediterranean sea. the owners have a sabatic year around the world in board the yatch.

Ok. PM don not sail with mexican flag but is the most biggest yatch for Mexican owner.

 Re: (seal32)

If you want to know the flag of a yacht you can use the Inmarsat ship directory at

http://support.inmarsat.com/ships_directory.aspx

In the case of Princess Mariana we can see that she flies the flag of BVI = British Virgin Islands, one of the red ensign registries. Her home port is therefore Road Town, BVI.

If you have problems reading the Flag code you need a table of so called ITU codes (International Telecommunication Union). You will find one here:

http://www.itu.int/ITU-R/space...b.pdf

Of course the Inmarsat ship directory only gives information about yachts having one or several Inmarsat systems installed. Most larger yachts have both Inmarsat-C (GMDSS) and Inmarsat-B systems but unfortunately sometimes unlisted for privacy and security reasons. But often they also have one or several Inmarsat-MiniM for crew use and these numbers are usually listed.

 Princess Mariana

Well, my request for some photos on this yacht from Royal Denship has resulted in kind replies from all over the world : once again guys, thank you so much for photos ranging from Acapulco to Monaco ! I also would like to point out Barh100's album on webshots where you can see many good shots of this spectacular yacht.

I must say that Mr Peralta made a beautiful statement towards his wife; not only did he name the yacht after her but he added some clear symbolism. Take a good look at the logo of the yacht : the entwined sun and moon. Poetic how this symbol seems to say what she means to him... sun and moon - everything and always...

It was docked in Puerto Banus, Near Marbella, Spain last week and looked fantastic.

We take the kids down each time we visit the area to look at the boats, but they will never be as impressed again now!!

If you look at the Royal Denship webpage at

http://www.royaldenship.dk/Default.asp?ID=16

there are five shipyards presented as Royal Denship partners - among them Danyard Aalborg that produced Princess Mariana as you say.

What is Royal Denship then? Is it like Feadship - an umbrella organization?
The company presents itself in the following way:

"We have geared our organization to meet the needs of the most uncompromising clients in the world, covering sales, design, engineering, construction, service and logistical teams, as well as a full training service."

PRINCESS MARIANA : it has been quiet about her. I know that she visited Monaco at the time of the GP in May - Bahr100 has made some seriously good shots of her arrival there - but has anyone seen her since ?

She was spotted in Spain since and I believe that she has been based at Port Vell in Barcelona but does anyone know if she's still in Catalonia ?

Now, of all the boats I've seen and no matter what size this boat just takes the cake. It truly is beautiful IMHO.

And yes, I am one of those people who registers and doesnt post.

vessel was en route to Panama as you described but not delayed due to crew training problems nor any thing of the sort.
Delays were simply the vessel was not finished.

Saturday 21 august, she was lying in Split, Croatia. I guess she was to big to stay in the normal port so she was berthed at the quay for the car ferries. She looked truly amazing. The helicopter was on board. I couldn't take any pictures .

Hello,I have just spend some days chartering a boat in South Italia. Lady Marianna was next to us in Sardinia and in Capri. They spend around 2 days in Marina Piccola (13 th August). Because of a quite strong wind at around midnight the boat had to live quichly her anchorage at around midnight???
They have never used their helicopter but tenders many times. This yacht is truly amazing with a very original outside design (specially the front part of the boat). As the "toys" (helic, tenders) she is white and a clear blue line makes them easily recognizable!

Princess Marianna came into Venice on 26th, and still there when we left on 28th. Helicopter in diff position evertime we saw her so getting a lot of use. Also there is a neat drop down sun-deck on the port side at the rear. Waved to crew who were diligently polishing her chrome, and took a photo.

 Princess Mariana

I left Venice yesterday afternoon (30th Aug 2004) and the Princess Mariana was still in port.

I am new to this site, but on my return I just had to know more about that boat. She is fantastic! Glad I found this forum.

Not sure how to attach pictures when posting, but have four good photos of her! Will try and attach them below, otherwise I can email them!

Hi Vinny,

the photo attachment function has been disabled by the moderators due to prior trouble with copyright issues.

You could open a free album at http://www.webshots.com or send them straight to the members (if they wish to receive...)

Please, in any case, send your pictures to: ogeg2000de[a]gmx.de as I LOVE this vessel!

Thanks in advance...
