 Nobiskrug

We've discussed Nobiskrug in a few threads, so I thought one central topic would be better.
Here's some interesting news about Project 777: She'll be heading out for sea trials on July 8; apparently sea trials occurred this week as well.

Triple Seven like the Boeing airplane. The YN gives the yacht an extra dimension of high-tech perfection but hopefully it will not take off like its Seattle namesake...

I think it is just another boxy design, a little like Air. Not at all that nice as the 53.5 m Oceana which I guess she is supposed to remind of....

True Blue is 55 m and look totally different. I am of course talking of the Oceana that is today Bakhshish...

I did not say that. I said "I GUESS she is supposed to remind of" and the reason is that she has many similarities except that she is very boxy...

 Re: 777 (Designo)

Oh, I thought that you knew something about her design history.

Personally I don't find a lot of similarities between them. But the yacht wasn't really finished when the pictures were taken and we will know more soon. I like the design of the portholes of the full beam section of the main deck...

I like them as well on this rendering

But they didnīt come out that nice from the pictures. But you are right, we better wait for the real thing at Monaco...

 Re: 777 (Designo)

wow.. i don't see the similarities AT ALL other than white house & blue hull.. i have seen the Oceanfast yacht and she is boxy, but so refined & elegant. but most yachts are boxy.... some recent launches are more rounded, but again that is individual styling.

and i too agree that she needs to breathe a bit and be seen around visiting... she is gorgeous.

 Re: 777 (Designo)

oh YES... one of the finest JB creations. btw, there were two Oceanfast launches named Oceana [Oceana C]. i didn't calculate the meters you mentioned, only went by name recognition.

the yacht you refer has a very different sheer and hull windows are not the same in 777. the air intakes in 777 to me look backward and this works fine in this yacht, i believe... all the angles from what i can see in the group of pics give her an individual look.

i have seen these 777 hull windows done by PJ Murray & Associates for a 164ft rendering. it is going to be one of those things we see a lot in the future probably... and i can live w/that... we need a change!

 Re: 777 (Yacht_Designer)

Bannenberg has also been playing with similar windows, http://www.yachtmati.com/gwhiz/pic001.htm
On Triple Seven I am afraid the crew will not be so happy when washing down the boat...

 Re: 777 (Designo)

those windows in Gwhiz are what everybody called Bannenberg windows. some people drew new boats with them, and none were built. i don't think they are the same technically.

What would you say that? for me is pretty obvios there are no similarities at all, oh well.. forgot that about the blue & superstructure colors..

Anyway I took some time to redraw in photoshop the 777 & Bakhshish profile in a more graphical manner to easier the job of comparing the two.

Designo/Andy would you be so kind and coment?, I'm curious to learn how you both happen to find those two desings similar in any way.

thanks!

There are kind of neat from my point of view, they "push the yacht forward" in a dynamical way.

Can't really comment about engineering but I trust the "german engineering"
