 Royal Huisman's Arcadia

Royal Huisman is a little less than a year away from delivering a classic-looking motoryacht, Arcadia. She's 36 meters long and designed by Tony Castro, with an interior by Dick Young. Here are some preliminary construction pictures, courtesy of the yard and the photographer Hans Westerink:

Here's something else I thought you'd be interested in seeing: the concept for the interior.

Any new info or photos of Arcadia? All I know is that she's suppose to be delivered in April 2006...

 Re: Royal Huisman's Arcadia (Johan_)

are u sure that the well at the back is for an anchor?....the well looks so but when i look at the horizontal piece Going acroos the stern it only has a slot mabe for a chain.....but if that is so, that means that the chain and not the anchor would be able to come in the anchor well.....i dont no if u understand wat i am trying to say....

Compared to the other ones, I understand what You mean...

About that anchor, it's a good observation You made, but I suppose they will solve it somehow.

ARCADIA is indeed launched and I have seen her, but no pictures yet .

Saturday she was doing sea trials on the "Ijsselmeer" and I saw her far on the horizon, but she was too far for pictures. I hope to see her soon in Amsterdam.

Maybe I have some time Saturday to take a picture.
It's Arcadia, George Town. Who is the owner?
Seems to be from France.

 Re: (bbgt almere)

George Town is probably the place of registry and has nothing to do with the nationality of the owner.

 Re: (Sean)

Yes George Town is the registry place.

About the possibility of a French owner, it's possible, but nearly impossible to verify. French owners are very hard to identify, due to the French Treasury... With the recent sale of Heloval (now under Cayman Islands flag), I think that there is no more megayacht under French flag...

 Re: (Yachtspotter)

If I remember correctly, Arcadia's owner is American. He previously owned a smaller yacht, around 80 feet, also named Arcadia.

 Re: (V65)

That the owner is from America. She could leave Europe for US after her delivery, and then few chances for European spotters (especially those around Med) to see her before a long time...

There is no George Town in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
George Town is written/painted on the stern of the ship
under the name Arcadia

If the name of the owner would be revealed here, how bad would that be
for the builder?

 Re: (bbgt almere)

If you have inside info and the owner has a confidentiality clause in his contract with the yard, as most all of them have, than you would cause problems for Royal Huisman.

If Dutch newspapers have been reporting on the name of the owner, than this info is in the public domain and the yard would not be responsible for that.

But I think it would be much more interesting to see this fine vessel on the water and to admire her, instead of knowing the name of a foreigner that mostly doesn't ring a bell at all.

Nobody wants to know his identity, it's uninteresting...
But have good pictures of this elegant yacht is really interesting!

I'll third that! Does it really matter who owns it? This forum is about appreciating yachts and not delving into the private lives of their owners.
